I wanted to share this picture to show the pure love between a boy and his dog. Dakota had her surgery (she was spayed and micro chipped) yesterday. She was a little sleepy after surgery and my youngest would not leave her side. Every time she would whimper he would calmly pet her head and tell her it was going to be okay. I was lucky enough to capture this tender moment and it touches my heart every time I look at it.

Dakota is healing well and seems to be feeling better today. As I write this she is running around my feet with her new pink squeaky pig toy which is now missing half an ear 🙂 Our pets become such a big part of our family and give us so much love and joy. So as you think about Valentine’s Day tomorrow remember not only the love between each other but the love we give and receive from our pets.
